Where do I even begin to talk about Hanna and Brendan's wedding day? Even now, five days later I'm basking in the afterglow. It was everything I love about weddings, fun, unique, laid back, outdoor, centered around connections and people. Hanna is an insanely talented area photographer, so being asked to photograph her and Brendan's day was such an honor.
From the moment I arrived, to the moment I left, I just had this feeling of happiness and well being. Hanna and Brendan surround themselves with amazing people (just like them!) so there was joy and community and love bouncing of the rafters.
And seriously, how could I not love a wedding where the groom wore a raspberry boutonnière and a wood tie (a nod to the talented woodworker that he is), the couple danced a choreographed tango for their first dance, and the bride's father and his Driftless Fire Tribe awed everyone with their skills?
Thank you so much to Hanna and Brendan for trusting me to tell the story of your day! It was a huge honor, and I feel blessed to have been there!
PS. do you see that light in the later bride and groom portraits? You can only get that kind of light if you are willing to take a couple minutes to duck out of your reception, or dinner, or dance and make "golden light" portraits a priority. You only get one shot at light like that. So if your photographer tells you the light is perfect for pictures, and you want glowy pictures like those, then DO IT :)
