If you clicked over from Facebook or Instagram (not following me there yet? start now!!!) to see Erica and Blake's lovely engagement session, you know I asked if you knew what two of my favorite things are in anything I photograph. Can you guess now???
Gorgeous light and true natural connections.
Did you get it right?
Well, Erica and Blake's engagement session had them both in abundance. I had such a lovely evening connecting with them at Wildcat Mountain State Park this past weekend. Not only is Erica an alum of my high school alma matter (Go Falcons!), but she is such a kind genuine person, and Blake seems perfect for her and so much fun! We totally lucked out with amazing gorgeous glowing light, and I am OBSESSED. WITH. LIGHT. It makes all the difference in the "feel" of a photograph, to me. But even more than that, I am obsessed with people and their true natural connections, and the way they interact, the moments that pass between them. Photographing the story between the poses (because, let's admit it, most people need at least a teensy bit of direction, at least to start, in a session like this), the natural moments and connections that happen around the posed photo, at the risk of sounding like a TOTAL cheeseball, it really makes my heart sing. (I failed at NOT sounding cheesy, right? That's okay. I admit it, I am a cheeseball).
So, with the light, and the connection, and the moments and the love, Erica and Blake's session was a joy. And I know that their wedding day will be the same, and I am so looking forward to it! Erica and Blake---thank you for entrusting me with your memories! I can't wait!
