If there were a contest for the most super fun, hilarious, and easy going couple, Ally and Aaron would be in the running for sure! I had an absolutely awesome time with them last Sunday for their engagement session. not only has the weather completely turned around and was beautiful, but they were just SO much fun. I love how Ally laughs and how they interact with one another. We galavanted (I just love that word) around Wilton, Ally’s hometown, and took advantage of the lovely light and some of the cool old vintage buildings around town. We ended the evening up on an amazing hill with a great view (thanks Jess for lending us your land!!!!) All that and a first for me—not one, but TWO mid-session facial hair changes—— it all equals an unforgettable session. And in August I get to hang out with these two again for what I KNOW will be a blast of a wedding, and I can’t wait! Thank you so much Ally and Aaron for a great evening!
It was so lovely to connect with the Deniz family again! I've gotten to take Vanessa's maternity pictures with their two older children, and now again as they wait to add their third little one! It is just SO fun to see families grow! We had so much fun at Pettibone park the other night! The weather FINALLY warmed up enough for us to do this session, and although the sun wasn't out for the beginning of our time, it came out at the end and we had lovely golden light to end the session with. Thank you so much guys for letting me capture your adorable family!
I was SO incredibly excited to kick off my 2018 wedding season with Shannon and John's Wednesday afternoon elopement this week. I am always honored to take part in any wedding celebration, but when it is an ultra-intimate day, it means all the more to be one of the few people involved in the day. Shannon and Jon's very meaningful ceremony was held at Justin Trails (which is a great venue for ANY type of wedding that you are planning). It was a lovely day (in admit all the terrible weather we've been having) and I loved spending time with Shannon and Jon. Thank you so much guys!
PS--I have to put it out there that I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to photograph more elopements. Anywhere! I am up for adventure! And I adore intimate celebrations.
The past couple years I haven't been doing as many family sessions---mostly focusing on weddings and birth photography BUT this year I am excited to announce that I am going to be taking on family sessions once again! My family sessions definitely run more towards the lifestyle and candid end. I love capturing families in their element, playing, laughing, tickling and not so much "LOOK AT THE CAMERA AND SMILE" So.... if you are looking for a candid and fun family session this year, contact me!!!
These sessions will be limited and mostly held on weekday evenings, when possible! Thank you!!!!
Yes, I am FINALLY getting to my 2017 in Review blog post.... in February 2018 ;) The holidays and the beginning of this just got away from me! And then, trying to narrow down the images from my 2017 weddings? It was SERIOUSLY TORTURE. I swear I say this every year but 2017 was just the most amazing year of weddings. I had 16 absolutely gorgeous couples with such lovely weddings. The locations, the celebrations, the style, the way they fell in my schedule? Honestly, I was just in love with it all! Thank you SO VERY MUCH to each and every couple who let me photograph them in 2017. It was an honor and a blessing to spend time with all of you! So....here we go. This is an ENORMOUS blog post... so I won't feel bad if you have to save it and come back time and again to get through it all......just promise me you'll make it through them all, it's worth it!
Lanea and Ryan’s wedding rounded out my 2017 wedding season. It was seriously an amazing year and I couldn’t have asked for a better wedding to cap it all off with. Lanea and Ryan had such a laid back, intimate and meaningful day. They forwent certain traditions that weren’t important to them and made their day just so lovely and joyful, and thoughtful. There was a real sense of community and connection overriding the entire day. And seriously, you can’t imagine two kinder people than Lanea and Ryan, they thanked ALL their vendors in their “speech” at their reception, and they just made us feel so welcome the entire day. It really was one of those weddings where I left in a happy glow from how lovely the people I met were. Thank you guys for such a wonderful day!
A huge shout out to my dear friend Karen who came along with me to be my assistant that day. I love you to species and it was a joy to have you with me!
Courtney and Jeff (and their adorable pup!) met me at Wildcat Mountain State park on a cold day in October. But they didn't let the cold get to them. They are adorable together and we had a great time taking advantage of all the beautiful views that the park offers. I absolutely can't wait for their wedding next year! Thanks guys for a great afternoon!
Amanda and Jesse are amazing people! They are just so sweet and kind and thoughtful. The type of couple that it is just such a joy to photograph. I feel so honored that they invited me to photograph their wedding day. It was a COLD day (you see some snowflakes in the above photos—your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you!!!) But they didn’t let the cold get to them. They knew they wanted lovely images of the two of them, so not only did they brave the chill, but they gave me an extended time with them as a couple to make the images they wanted, which was awesome. Amanda wore her mother’s dress—which is just SO special, and there were just so many personal little touches like that to the day that made it even more awesome! Gatherings on the Ridge is a great venue—it was my first time there!—the rustic setting and elegant touches really complimented the laid back loveliness that was Amanda and Jesse’s wedding day. Thank you so much guys for being awesome and inviting me to celebrate alongside you.
My dear friend Jess Brandau shot this wedding with me, so a HUGE thank you to her!! Jess—as always, you are such a joy to have shooting with me… Some of her images above, where noted.Read More
So...basically, all you need to know is that Anne and Jamison are awesome. I had so.much.fun meeting them, taking their photos, and going out for amazing pizza (thank you SO much guys you rock!!!!) with them. It was SO crazy cold and windy on the day we did their photos, but they had an amazing location at MIAD for us to start out with and then they braved the chill like champs! I absolutely adore them both and I am so SO excited to photograph their wedding next year!
Sometimes when I haven't met a couple prior to their wedding I get really nervous about the wedding day.....so I admit when I pulled up to Oak Hill for Nikki and Adam's wedding I had a major case of the butterflies. I needn't have worried though... they were an amazing couple. So kind, so in love, and so very much fun. Not to mention they have AMZING style. Not only did they choose to get married at Oak Hill, which is just ALWAYS perfect, but Nikki's dress had me swooning ALL day long...sleeves, and lace and tulle and movement??? ummm..... yes please!!!! Add to ALL of that (as it isn't enough) absolutely PERFECT weather, some of the most gorgeous light I've ever had the pleasure to shoot in and the most fun friends and family to surround them......it all equals a perfect day. I was so honored to meet and photograph Nikki and Adam and I wish you guys all the best!
Also a huge shout out and thank you to Aimee Schaefer for being an awesome second shooter. I had so much fun having you shoot alongside me!
I had such a lovely time meeting Jen and Luke by their house on the lake. The weather wasn't the most lovely, but they were complete troopers and didn't mind one bit. The fall colors, and the lake and Jen and Luke all made for such fun and lovely pictures. Jen and Luke are an adorable couple and were so fun to get to know! I am so excited for their wedding next year. Thank you so much Jen and Luke!!!
When Michelle and I were talking about locations for her engagement shoot with Nick, I told her I thought that the airbnb I was staying at (awesome, amazing place, by the way!!!!) would be a great place for the session and she basically said "We will defer to you as we have seen the amazing photos you take". So right away I knew this was going to be an amazing session. Clients who trust me? Um.... yes, please!!!! And I was so right. I absolutely LOVE Michelle and Nick. Not only are they hilarious and adorable together, I just had SO MUCH fun with them. We talked nonstop and found so many things to connect on.....and did I mention they are ADORABLE together??? It was just a great day! I cannot wait for their 2018 wedding. Thank you Michelle and Nick for being amazing and trusting me!!!!
Katie and Rich traveled to my backyard from 3 hours away for their engagement session, and in my book that makes them AMAZING!!! I loved meeting with them and taking their photos in the gorgeous October colors and light. What a fun evening! I am so looking forward to their wedding next year!! Thanks so much Katie and Rich!
